On a sunny morning, I joined an exercise held by a traditional Chinese physician in Central Park, New York. I told my newly met teammates that I am from Vancouver, Canada. One of them asked me with a concerned tone: Oh! Canada is a very good country with many nice people. Are you OK here in New York?
I said ‘I am OK because I originally came from Shanghai, China.’ He understood ‘Then, you should be fine.’ Ha ha! It was an interesting conversation and I had been thinking about it.
Sure! If we compare lives in different countries to nature, my days in New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong were like walking through a dangerous jungle full of predators in which I had to arm myself and be alarmed all the time in order to survive and make my life. That was the environment I grew up in. But life in Vancouver gave me a different experience. It is much more relaxing, like living in "The Wizard of Oz" which allows me to have a self-exploration.
If we think deeply, it is not difficult to discover that we always respond to “Are you OK?” with “I am OK” regardless of what situation. Are we really OK? Instead of dragging into it, I rather go with the flow to see what I am going to get.
Be free and versatile as waves
At a dinner in New York, I met with Tiffany, the founder of OLEADA. That was how I got to know this new brand and eventually became a user of its signature product, Wavia Bag.
